Research colloquium Squat rail defects, overloaded limits of the wheel-rail system – and the way back…
We are very proud: On October 17, the Institute of Railway Engineering and Transport Economics hosted a fantastic research colloquium by Ingolf Nerlich on a controversial topic at Graz University of Technology. There was open discussion and intense debate. After Ingolf’s problem analysis and detailed presentation of the causes, damage mechanisms, and manifestations (the long story of his dissertation), Clément Granier supplemented the first steps in SBB’s track system management on the way back, and Zacharias Kull supplemented the requirements and system architecture of the IT landscape necessary for the evaluations. A well-filled lecture hall and a highly knowledgeable and interested audience – that’s how university should be. Thank you to everyone who came and, of course, once again to the speakers!
