Jan has been working at the institute since 2022 dealing with the over-all topic of track infrastructure management. He is part of the Track Lab in the research areas Automatized M&R Planning and Maintenance Strategies for increasing Traffic Volumes. His core research goal (and PhD-topic) is to create a measurement-based maintenance and renewal forecast integrating bottom-up analyses and top-down decisions. Jan is involved in teaching with courses on the design of railway lines and on data analysis methods.
